Open Door Pride hosts its 9th Annual Pride Festival on Saturday, June 28 from 10am – 5pm in Martin Park, 207 South 3rd Avenue, Sturgeon Bay. The Festival will feature live music, vendors, food trucks, beverages, games, a 50/50 raffle and so much more.
The event is rain or shine.
10 am To open the Festival, Coleen Bins of Chief Oshkosh in Egg Harbor will offer an Indigenous Invocation of Pride followed by returning Madison DJ Tim Walters. He will spin great dance music throughout the day. PLUS featuring a very special Surprise Guest MC!
Beginning at 11am Live musical performances by DC Choir featuring choir director Avery Burns, Eli and Axel and Grayson / Dorothy Scott / The Coves / Zephyr Ciesar / Shan Fiorello / Cathy Grier + The Troublemakers / Emilie Rose Bishop with Tim Fox on piano / The Gliddiots / and Hype Dance Group
New to Pride: art tent with Claudia Scimeca (of ARTicipation Gallery) hosting art activities for kids of all ages. Face painting, What’s My Pride? Selfie station, Ribbon Project and 10 skateboard decks will be available in a silent auction created by Sturgeon Bay High School students and teachers led by Art teacher Nicole Herbst-to benefit Open Door Pride.
At 1pm The Open Door Pride Festival includes three recognition ceremonies that highlight the power of a small community: the mayor’s annual proclamation declaring June in Sturgeon Bay as Open Door Pride Month, the Sandy Brown Award, and the IDEA Scholarship. The Sandy Brown Award recognizes a person or organization that has made significant contributions to the LGBTQIA+ community and has made Door County a more welcoming place to visit and live. This year’s award is designed by artist Renee Schwaller of Off The Wheel Pottery. The IDEA Scholarship is awarded to a graduating Door County senior who demonstrates a passion for inclusivity, diversity, sensitivity, and building community. Admission to all Pride events is FREE.At nightfall, the Maritime Museum Tower will be illuminated with the rainbow pride colors.

In the M3 Gallery across the street, join artists Claudia Scimeca, Jen Aldrich, for free art activities suitable for all ages. Enjoy painting cookies donated by Scaturos and more at our expanded festival grounds.
Express your unique Pride at our ‘What’s My Pride’ selfie station, jot down your sentiments on a chalkboard, and capture the moment at M3 Gallery!
At 12pm, head to the stage for ‘June is Open Door Pride Month’ Proclamation.
And we will also be presenting the prestigious Sandy Brown Award and the IDEA Student Scholarship during our event. Don’t miss it!

In 2022, we celebrated the 6th annual Open Door Pride Festival at Martin Park. Hundreds gathered in Sturgeon Bay to celebrate the many people and groups who make Door County a welcoming place to live and visit.
