Open Door Pride announces new Vice Chair

Open Door Pride board of directors has elected Michael Meulemans as the new vice chair (3 year term). Michael comes to the board with over 23 years living in Door County.  Invested in the community, he has served on the Destination Sturgeon Bay board, the Baileys Harbor Community Association board as President, and was on the Parks Committee for the Town of Baileys Harbor.  In that time, he has co-developed the Tall ship Festival in Sturgeon Bay and started the Baileys Harbor Farmers Market to just name a few things.  For his love of flowers, he owns and runs Design Door County in between managing the bar at Harbor Fish Market & Grille.   Michael lives in Baileys Harbor with his husband Doug Smith.  Together they have made many milestones in the community by being the first gay couple to be married in Door County.  They both also produce a free to the community drag show called Mirrorball every year.
