June is Pride Month in Door County

We are preparing for our 6th Annual Pride Festival in Martin Park with a return to a live event on June 25th 10am-5pm. Thanks to our Pride Flag initiative, more Pride Flags have been distributed throughout the County than ever before. If you see a flag, please thank the businesses that are flying them. Did you know that donor funds go directly to purchasing Pride flags so that we can offer them to any business in Door County that requests one? If you’d like to donate to our flag initiative, we’d love your support.

The newly managed by Destination Sturgeon Bay farmers/crafts Market will begin June 4th and we will have a weekly presence with our ODP tent. The Miller Museum’s new Gallery M3 will host our What’s My Pride? Project for the month of June, and will also be the place for family fun art activities during our Festival on June 25th. Our sponsored Destination Sturgeon Bay Flowerpot (thank you Bonnie Brooke Gardens and Andria Nikoupolis-Weliky), and our sponsored Cherry created by artist Monica Ramirez (Mona Lucy Gallery), are both now in Martin Park at Oregon Street.

The Door County Living Philanthropy 2022 issue featured a picture of our Sandy Brown Award taken during our virtual Festival last year. With so many non-profit organizations serving our Communities, how can we not help but be Proud. It’s publications like DC Living, that understand what it means to be a true ally. We will be presenting our 2022 Sandy Brown Award recipient at 1pm during our June 25th Festival.

Please read about the following important dates to put on your calendar, and hope to see you during Pride Month. We welcome suggestions on how to keep moving our initiatives forward. Thanks for being our eyes and ears on how we can help Open Door Pride grow.

Happy Pride,

Cathy Grier
