“Seek To Understand” a Panel Community Conversation
June 19 @ 6:30 pm
Open Door Pride invites you to Seek to Understand, a free community conversation taking place on Thursday, June 19, at 6:30 PM at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall. This immersive event is designed to educate and equip residents, business owners, and allies across Door County with the tools to better respond to today’s social and political climate.
The evening will explore four vital issues impacting our community through short presentations followed by Q&A. Topics include:
– The Black experience in Door County
– The trans experience and trans education
– How to be an effective advocate and ally for the LGBTQIA+ community
– Education on rights and protocols related to current immigration laws and ICE enforcement
Each section will run 20–30 minutes total, with a 10–15 minute presentation followed by time for open dialogue. Presenters are local leaders and educators, making this event especially relevant and accessible for the Door County community.
Our goal is to foster a welcoming environment where even those who don’t typically attend these conversations feel encouraged to listen, learn, and engage. This is your chance to be part of something meaningful—one conversation can spark a deeper understanding.
