Onward to Pride month

5th Annual Festival Lineup Saturday June 26, 2021


 


June is Pride Month!
We are very excited about our upcoming Open Door Pride Festival on June 26th!  
Even though this year’s festival will primarily be virtual (11am-1pm) live on our facebook page, you are welcome to join us for a live ceremony at noon in Martin Park for the reading of the formal Sturgeon Bay City Proclamation by Alder J. Spencer Gustafson, declaring June as Open Door Pride Month.  We will also be presenting this year’s recipient of the Sandy Brown Award, formal announcement and more event details forthcoming.

Also in the park on the 26th, The Ribbon Project installation will be up for viewing, and ribbons will be available to write your message of Pride and Inclusion.  ODP volunteers will be present to offer information and help you join the What’s My Pride Project?  Immortalize yourself with a picture of you and a chalkboard describing what is your pride! 
 Here are some notables leading up to the Festival:
Join us on June 1st at 10 am in Martin Park for the raising of the Pride Flag. 
We will also be installing a banners at the top of Jefferson Street and the corner of Oregon and 3rd Avenue.
 June 1st at 6pm City Hall Sturgeon Bay
June will be officially Proclaimed as Open Door Pride Month


Tune in to the Sturgeon Bay City Council meeting at 6pm on June 1st for the reading and presentation of the Proclamation from Mayor Dave Ward. Note: Council Chambers will be open to the public to observe and render public comment on agenda items only. The meeting will be live-streamed at https://sbtv.viebit.com and cable access channel 988.  If anyone would like to attend and make a public comment on our agenda item 5. Proclamation for Open Door Pride, we would welcome your support. You will need to be there before the meeting starts to sign in for comments.
